Allyson Lynch is a passionate vocal pedagogue and performer who has been a member of the South Shore’s music and theater community her entire life. She has held previous teaching positions on the Voice and Theater faculty of South Shore Conservatory, and has worked closely with the Music Department and Drama Club at Silver Lake Regional High School for several years as a voice teacher and coach. Specializing in both classical and musical theater vocal styles, Allyson believes strongly in vocal cross-training. Developing healthy technique through a wide range of individualized repertoire and encouraging expression and emotional connection through singing are her main goals when working with students. With the use of ear-training and music theory she is able to create and strengthen musicianship skills and give students the tools they need to be successful singers.
Allyson graduated with her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Louisville in 2020 and she received her Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford in 2015. A regular performer of operatic, and musical theater repertoire, some of Allyson’s operatic credits include covering Micaëla in Carmen and Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro with Kentucky Opera in their 2019-2020 season, as well as Aurelia Havisham in Miss Havisham’s Wedding Night, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, and Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte. An enthusiastic newcomer to the world of oratorio and concert repertoire, Allyson was featured as the Mezzo soloist in the Bach Magnificat and Vivaldi Gloria at the National Theatre of Costa Rica in May 2019. Allyson has been passionate about musical theater her entire life. Some musical theater credits include Maria in Man of La Mancha, Aquata in The Little Mermaid, and the ensembles of Sister Act, Mary Poppins, and Show Boat. It is important to Allyson to use her vast performance experience to help encourage and educate her students through their own performance and singing experiences.
